Nigel completed the Grand Raid on Saturday 22 August 2009, great event and very well organised. 3300 competitors in all 1517 in the 68km race from Heremence, I came 655th overall and 171st out of 470 plus in class (older men). Very respectable considering I had a problem with the bike and then crashed on the decent into Eveolen, so was a little cut and bruised which didn't help on the main climb. The support was great along the way and the guys had set up a banner and British flag on top of the mountain.
